About

Hello and welcome to our family! You’ll find all of our bookish adventures here – literary travel, book reviews and bookshop visits.

There are three of us on this journey. Me – Mel, Al and 9-year-old Little M.  It’s true to say that our lives are dominated by books. Al and I had our first date in Waterstones Covent Garden when we both worked in publishing, and we’ve been building our own library ever since, which now contains more than 2000 titles.

Nowadays we’re based on the edge of the beautiful Peak District where we spend our days searching for amazing reads and literary destinations.

We’re big supporters of bookshops, especially independent ones and it’s our aim to visit as many as possible.

We post bookish photographs on Instagram every week.  You can read more about what Bookstagram means to me over at Frolic Media.  Our photos have also been published in the Metro and more recently, on the Visit Britain and Visit Peak District social media pages. We’ve been featured on Instagram’s Weekend Hashtag Challenge (#WHP) twice and regularly share tips about bookstagramming on this site.

Al and I both have day jobs. Al works in hospice care. I’m the digital communications officer for Buxton International Festival, and manage the online platforms for Ezeeprint – a digital printing service. I  also help out other clients on an ad hoc freelance basis.

We love to create vivid content and have produced posts for brands including Bloomsbury Publishing, Puffin Books, Yoshi and Laurence King. If you’d like to work with us, drop us a line via our contact page.
